Project Office Coordinator – RECUMO - 4 years

4 years
RECUMO Management Team

Job description

Contribute to the infrastructure of tomorrow! Can you keep our high-tech project within the pre-set timing and budget?

Make a difference as Project Office Coordinator of RECUMO!

SCK•CEN is among the leading research institutions in Belgium. Over 750 employees work every day on the development of peaceful applications of radioactivity. Our developments have already resulted in a long list of innovative and future-oriented medical, industrial and energy-related applications.
In the RECUMO project, SCK•CEN will treat highly radioactive medical waste and the uranium that it contains. This waste flow comes from the production of medical radioisotopes, which are crucial in cancer research and treatments. Thanks to RECUMO, the amount of waste will be drastically reduced, which will enable to keep the production of medical radioisotopes in our country. To be able to realise this, we will build new cutting-edge infrastructure on the site in Mol by 2023. As Project Office Coordinator, you will:

  • Contribute to the cost control and strategic and financial decisions within RECUMO and develop financial plans to realise the objectives and construction.
  • Advise the RECUMO management and make sure the project is kept on schedule and within budget.
  • Set up the necessary reporting procedures and coordinate the activities of our project office (QA, progress reporting, purchases and administration).
  • At all times monitor the evolutions and developments in terms of planning, budget and control and, in consultation with the responsible management, initiate the necessary corrective actions.

Required qualifications

To enable us to have our innovative infrastructure up and running by 2023:

  • You have comprehensive knowledge of planning software such as MS Project and/or Primavera.
  • You have experience with budgeting in SAP.
  • You speak fluent Dutch and English. French is a bonus.
  • You have documented cost control and planning experience. Experience with the construction of high-tech infrastructure is a plus.
  • You preferably have a master's degree in Industrial Engineering or Applied Economic Sciences (TEW)
