Radiochemical analysis laboratory technician (m/f)

As a laboratory technician, performing analyses on radioactive samples using all feasible techniques and available equipment. More specifically:

  • Preparing samples for (radioactive) analysis samples: dissolving, diluting, preparing benchmarks, performing separations, etc.;

  • Dissolving radioactive samples using microwaves, high pressure bombs, DigiPREP, etc.;

  • Carrying out analyses using alpha and gamma spectrometry, liquid scintillation (LSC), UV-VIS, TOC, ICP-AES and other chemical analysis techniques;

  • Interpreting and reporting results to the laboratory supervisor;

  • Providing support in current and future projects;

  • Carrying out quality control and equipment maintenance;

  • Participating in an on-call rotation;

  • Guaranteeing the daily operation of the laboratory (checking and executing calibrations, placing orders, order and cleanliness in the lab, etc.)

Required qualifications

  • Professional bachelor's diploma, specialising in chemistry, preferably specialising in analytical chemistry.

  • Willingness to work with radioactive samples in controlled areas;

  • Willingness to perform routine analyses;

  • Sense of organisation and accuracy;

  • Sense of order and cleanliness;

  • Flexible, good team spirit;

  • Quality and safety conscious;

  • Practical knowledge of IT applications (Excel, Word, etc.);

  • Adapted knowledge of English, French.
