We have a vacancy within our preclinical research program in the field of radiopharmaceuticals for molecular radiotherapy for an experienced preclinical research associate to join our Radiation Dosimetry Team.

This is a great opportunity to join a progressive and developing CRO in the radiopharmaceutical field. Your work will be devoted to setting up and coordinating the preclinical imaging programs at in vivo/ex vivo level. Training and development will be provided  to progress in your career. The SCK•CEN Research in Dosimetric Applications Unit offers a dynamic environment that will allow you to develop your current skill set and experience.
 
More specifically, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the development of the preclinical programs in a new radioactive animal facility devoted to in vivo research and CRO activities
  • Develop the quantitative imaging capacity in the preclinical facility
  • Optimise quantitative imaging for radiopharmaceuticals emitting beta and alpha radiation
  • Collaborate with the researchers in the team in the framework of dosimetry and microdosimetry research within preclinical molecular radiotherapy
  • Develop and participate in international research projects in the framework of preclinical research of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Represent the preclinical safety assessment function on development teams and support the design and implementation of preclinical imaging programs
  • Ensure compliance of the preclinical study protocol requirements within the appropriate regulatory and ethical guidelines and standards
  • Prepare and present the preclinical protocols to the Ethical Committee and the Animal Welfare Committee

Required qualifications

  • PHD or equivalent in science
  • Experience of performing start-up preclinical procedures and routine monitoring
  • Experience in preclinical (quantitative) imaging of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Strong interest in research and the ability to initiate, collaborate and lead teams to address scientific issues
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across various preclinical trials in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills with an ability to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of French and Dutch is an asset. Non-Dutch speakers should be prepared to acquire a minimum knowledge of the Dutch language.
  • Experience in radiation dosimetry is an added value
  • Experience in radiobiology (in vivo research with mice) is an added value
  • Experience in activity measurements is an added value
  • Experience in Monte Carlo calculations is an added value
