Would you and your class/year like to visit SCK•CEN? No problem!
School tours for final grade of secondary education
Classes of students in their fifth or final year of secondary education with focus on science and technology will be offered the unique opportunity to visit SCK•CEN accompanied by their teacher. Our guides will take you into the wondrous world of nuclear science and technology. They will inform you about nuclear energy and astronautics research, you will see a nuclear reactor and you will dive 225 metres underground into our research laboratory for radioactive waste. We can offer you a fascinating morning or afternoon session or an entire day.
Every academic year, SCK•CEN sets aside a few dates specifically for school tours.
- Anyone who wishes to book one of these dates, must apply at least 1 month in advance via the website for youngsters (only available in Dutch and French).
- We will then contact you to discuss the visit in more detail.
- At least 10 working days before your visit, you must provide us with the identification details of all of the students and accompanying adults on this form.
- Report to the main entrance on the day of the visit.
Maximum number of visitors?
Any visit will be limited to a maximum of 34 visitors, a minimum of 2 accompanying adults included. A group of 17+ will be split.
